We traveled to Belgium in 2017 as part of a work trip. We stayed in Leuven -home of our dear friend and coworker Jan who gave us a tour of Leuven and Brussels. The castle-like buildings in the town squares were amazing! We stayed at The Forth – Tafelrond that was originally used as a meeting place for different guilds in the city of Leuven.
Belgium is made up of a diverse group of peoples and languages. It borders France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. About 60 percent of the population speaks Dutch and about 40 percent speaks French.
Our Belgium meal was Stoofvlees (Flemish Stew), Pommes Frites (French Fries), Flemish Sautéed Brussels Sprouts and Waffles from Liege. All very good even though the Flemish stew doesn’t too appetizing in the picture. My favorite part of the meal was the Waffles! Another good breakfast food! While in Belgium I had a meal similar to what we made for our table adventure. We didn’t realize this until we started looking through pictures from our trip.
